Our History
An earlier version of the Nebraska Hispanic Bar Association existed prior to the reorganization in 2024. This earlier version fulfilled the immense need for an association dedicated to the growth of Hispanics in the profession and laid the foundation for the current association. At its peak of operations, the association was an integral part of the Hispanic community in Omaha and Lincoln; the association organized and hosted mock trials and visited local high schools to educate students on the requirements to become an attorney.
The association was also involved in promoting legislation centered around helping marginalized Hispanic groups/communities in Nebraska. The association had mentors for young attorneys and aspiring law students to introduce them to the distinguished career of an attorney.
While this earlier version was a distinct entity from the current association, the efforts and projects undertaken are greatly appreciated and inspire the current association.
